Christmas According to the Book of Brynn
I figured, being in the somewhat unusual position of being raised by a Catholic mother as a Jew, that I would share my notion of the story of Christmas because it might be interesting/hilarious/offensive. Due to my commentary this got long, so here's ( an LJ-cut )And that's the story as far as I know. How accurate am I? (Maybe I'll do this again when Easter comes around; be warned, that's even more liable to be offensive since some of the more wacky Christian traditions like ritual cannibalism come out of that story) Current Mood: quixotic |

Merry Day!
To them what celebrate, may your Christmas be merry and any annual trials of this time of year not be too tumultuous. Everyone else, enjoy Chinese/Indian food but note that the Christians have started going to the theaters too so get there early. Also tomorrow is a bad day to shop but a great day to get cheap candy. Rockin' Wednesday Redux
My Paypal account was hacked at 4 AM and I have already dealt with it both through Paypal and through my bank (DCU continues to be awesome, they even gave me a new debit card on the spot), but it entirely ate up my morning. So Rockin' Wednesday might not start until closer to 8, depending on whether or not my last patient shows up. If you get there at the 7:30 start time you might have to wait a few minutes and then watch me rapidly do some last-minute cleaning ;P. Current Mood: busy |

Rockin' Wednesday: Time Warp
Due to an evening clinical shift Rockin' Wednesday will be starting at 7:30 instead of 7:00, although it will still end at 11:00 as I need to get an early start down to my folk's place for the holidays. So, Wednesday night, my place, 7:30-11 PM. Beatles Rock Band and regular Rock Band will be here, so bring your requests and whatever munchies or beverages you'd enjoy and we'll have a rocking good time! Current Mood: pleased |

Maybe letting it snow wasn't such a good idea
Apparently shoveling out the stairs, walkway, sidewalk, and my car was more than my back was expecting to do yesterday, as it is now informing me (although it's being very polite about it - vague soreness with the occasional twinge that didn't interfere with my clinical shift this evening). I think I'll heat up the lavender hotpad thingie and sit against it for a while. Anyone have favorite home remedies for suchness they'd like to share? (I can't use my pain-relief-fu on my own back, sad to say ;P) Current Mood: calm |

New England: where n00b weather gods go to get their training.
"Pst. Dude." *shake* "*snerk* Huh? Wha?" "You slept thru the first month of winter. The Prof is gonna kill you!" "OMGWTFBBQ! Why did you let me sleep so long?!?" "I dunno, dude, you just looked peaceful or something. At least I woke you before the Solstice." "I gotta make up for lost time! Do something spectacular!" "Dude! I got it: do a huge snowfall in the middle of the night. Humans love that whole 'waking up to freshly fallen snow' thing and there'll be, like, no deaths and stuff." "That's a great idea! But I better make sure I start pretty late in the biggest city, some of those humans like to stay up." ETA: the first snow slushie of the season is always the best :). Current Mood: amused |

Going out barefoot/barelegged in six inches of snow is fun, but should be done in short stretches. Anybody want a snowball? |
